Multi-tabling on WPT Global: table limits and switching tables

WPT Global lets you play several tables at once, both cash games and tournaments. There are a few limits to know first: each device has a total table limit, cash games have their own limit, and some formats allow only one table at a time. The limits depend on your device and platform settings, and desktop allows more than mobile. According to PokerNews (August 2026), desktop currently allows up to 4 cash tables or 7 tournament tables, with a maximum of 7 tables total. Mobile allows fewer; go by the app’s messages.

If you open too many tables, the app shows one of these messages:

MessageMeaning
You can only play X tables total on this device. Please close one and try opening this table again. This device can open X tables in total; close one first
You can only play X cash game tables at once. You can play at most X cash tables at a time
You can only play X Pace tables at once.A specific format (such as Pace) is limited to X tables at a time
You can only play 1 … table at once. This format allows only one table at a time

As of version 1.5.19, Pace (fast-fold) and PLO-5 are one-table-only formats; go by the app’s message. Pace moves you to a new table every hand anyway, so a single table already gives you plenty of volume.

A phone screen shows one table at a time, so multi-tabling relies on two tools:

  • Multi-table bar: a row of small icons on screen represents your open tables. Tap one to switch to it.
  • Auto-focus: Turn on auto-focus on mobile in the app settings. When it’s on, the table where it’s your turn to act jumps to the front automatically; when it’s off, you switch tables yourself.

Auto-focus is good when you’re new to multi-tabling because you won’t miss a turn, but it gets annoying when it pulls you away while you’re typing or checking stats. Once you’re comfortable, you can turn it off and switch manually.

To return to every table you’re sitting out at once, press Sit back in all tables. See Sit Out.

The number of tournament tables you can open at the same time is limited. If you’re registered in more tournaments than you can open, the app shows:

You are registered in X tournaments and only Y may be opened on this device. Switch to the desktop app to avoid being blinded out or select Y to continue.

The tournaments you don’t select keep running: your blinds keep getting posted, your turns are handled automatically, and your stack slowly bleeds away. Think about how many you can manage before you register.

Multi-tabling increases your hands per hour, but your focus on each table will drop. Some suggestions:

  • Win consistently at one table first, then add tables gradually.
  • Stick to one format when multi-tabling, for example all NLHE cash tables, rather than mixing cash games, tournaments and Short Deck. You’ll make fewer mistakes.
  • A phone screen gets crowded with two or three tables; use the desktop app if you want to play more.

How many tables can I play at once on WPT Global?

According to PokerNews (August 2026), desktop allows up to 4 cash tables or 7 tournament tables, with 7 tables total; mobile allows fewer. The platform may change this, so go by the app's message. If you go over, you'll see "You can only play X tables total on this device".

Why can I only open one Pace table?

Some formats, including Pace (fast-fold) and PLO-5, have their own limit of one table at a time. Going over shows "You can only play 1 … table at once".

How do I stop the app from switching me to other tables on mobile?

Turn off Turn on auto-focus on mobile in the app settings. The app will then no longer pull you to the table where you need to act, and you switch tables yourself from the multi-table bar.

I registered for more tournaments than I can open. What happens?

The app shows a prompt asking you to choose which ones to open and suggests switching to the desktop app. The tournaments you don't open keep running, your blinds keep getting posted and your turns are handled automatically, so don't register for more than you can manage.
