What does Sit Out mean? WPT Global sit out rules and daily limit

Sit Out means stepping away for a bit: your seat is held and your chips stay on the table, but you won’t be dealt in starting next hand. Use it when you need to take a call or grab a drink and don’t want to lose your seat at the table.

WPT Global’s Sit Out has two limits you should know about up front: a daily usage limit, and your seat is only held for a limited time.

  1. Open the menu at the table.
  2. Tap Sit Out.
  3. You’ll see You will be sat out next hand. Finish the current hand as usual, and you’ll be sitting out from the next hand.

While you’re sitting out, your seat shows how much time is left before you lose it.

A Sit back in button appears on screen. Tap it to rejoin the game. If you have several tables open, there’s also Sit back in all tables to rejoin all of them at once.

You may need to post a blind when you come back. If the screen shows Post, you need to post one big blind before you’re dealt in. If the table has a mandatory straddle and more than 3 players are in the game, you post 2x the big blind. See straddle rules.

Your seat is only held for a limited time, so come back before the countdown ends. If you expect to be gone for a while, it’s safer to just cash out.

Sit Out isn’t unlimited. If you tap it after using up your sit outs for the day, you’ll see:

Failed of Sit Out, this feature has reached today’s usage limit

At that point you have two choices: stay at the table and keep playing, or tap Cash Out to settle up and leave.

The menu has two other buttons that look similar:

ButtonSeatChipsBest for
Sit OutHeldStay on the tableStepping away briefly
Stand UpGiven up, you become a spectator—Staying to watch without playing
Cash OutGiven up, you leave the tableReturned to your account balanceYou’re done for the day. See Cash Out

In tournaments (MTTs), if you leave or disconnect, your seat shows Sitting Out. As in any online tournament, blinds and antes are still taken while you’re away and you’re acted on automatically when it’s your turn, so if you’re away too long during a tournament, your stack keeps shrinking.

What does Sit Out mean?

Stepping away from the table for a while. Your seat is held, but starting next hand you won't be dealt in and won't pay blinds until you tap Sit back in.

Why am I still in this hand after tapping Sit Out?

Sit Out takes effect from the next hand. After you tap it, you'll see You will be sat out next hand., and you still need to finish the current hand.

Can I use Sit Out as much as I want?

No. WPT Global limits how many times you can use Sit Out per day. Once you hit the limit, you'll see Failed of Sit Out, this feature has reached today's usage limit, and you can't sit out again that day. You can only keep playing or leave the table.

What's the difference between Sit Out, Stand Up, and Cash Out?

Sit Out keeps your seat and pauses dealing to you. Stand Up gives up your seat so you can watch. Cash Out returns your table chips to your account and leaves the table. Use Sit Out for a short break and Cash Out when you're done playing.

For what other table buttons mean, see the UI glossary.
